Scheduling a School Visit

Please call the school office, 301-565-2282, to make an appointment to observe one of our classes. Observation mornings begin in October. In addition to our regular Information Evenings, we hold 2 Open Houses each year, in October and January. Open Houses are popular events, with teachers, parents and board members available to answer questions. Children are welcome and activities especially designed for young children set up in each classroom. Classroom Observations and Information Evenings are for adults only. You may drop by our school with your child between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm, for a look around our playground and public areas.

Time: 7:30 – 9:00 P.M.
November 7, January 29, February 13, March 5

These evenings provide parents with a brief, comprehensive presentation of Waldorf early childhood education and our programs, followed by a question and answer period with one of our teachers.  All enrolling parents are asked to attend. We hold these regularly during the year.

Open House (Children Welcome – No Registration Necessary)

November 3 and January 26 (snow date February 2)
Time: 10:00 A.M. – 12 Noon

A great opportunity to experience Waldorf early education first hand. Twice a year we open our classrooms for a taste of a typical day at Acorn Hill. You and your child can meet our teachers and enjoy an activity, such as cooking activities, beeswax modeling, and story-telling.

Spring Fair

May 11, 2013

10am – 2pm

Join us for our annual family event! Children will enjoy our outdoor games, crafts, activities and a special marionette show.  Other highlights include the sale of dolls, animals, and other crafts lovingly made by our very own parents, Little Shop items, plants, home-made baked goods, delicious wholesome food for lunch, and a raffle.
