Like most independent schools, income from tuition and fees does not cover the cost of our programs at Acorn Hill.

We rely heavily on the generous spirit of our community of families, alumni, faculty, and board members to support the school and bridge this gap in expenses. This generosity allows Acorn Hill to continue our long tradition of nurturing and enriching the lives of young children and their families.

There are many ways for current and alumni families to support the school, from participation at annual events such as the Spring Fair and Auction, to tax-deductible contributions such as our Annual Giving campaign, and planned giving. In addition, contributions toward the Foster Fund allow specialized support for teacher training.

Annual Giving

We ask all current families, board members and faculty/staff to contribute to the Annual Giving fund because this is our most critical funding source, feeding directly into the operating budget to help offset the “tuition gap,” and providing immediate benefits to our students.

Annual Giving allows our Board of Directors to set tuition at a level that encourages financial diversity among families and enables every parent to participate meaningfully in the financial life of the school with a tax-deductible gift. Donations contribute directly to faculty salaries and benefits, facility maintenance, and classroom materials, making a significant difference in the lives of all of our students and teachers.

Our goal for participation among faculty and board members is 100% each year, and we generally achieve well above 95%.
