To apply for the 2024-25 school year, please click “Apply Online” below. Applications are due by February 1 for first consideration. After February 1, we offer rolling admissions.

How to Apply

Step 1. Visit Acorn Hill

Please plan to attend one of our in-person Tours. They include an overview presentation of our school and Waldorf Education, and a tour of our campus and outdoor classrooms. For a first look, you can watch our Video Tour. Call us at 301-565-2282 to ask any questions.

Step 2. Submit an Application by Feb 1.

Apply online along with your non-refundable application fee of $75. Applications are due on February 1 to be eligible for first round admissions. Applications are accepted after February 1 for rolling admissions.

If your child is currently enrolled in another program, a teacher referral is also required. Teacher referrals are due by February 15.

All applications are thoroughly reviewed, and acceptance into each program is made based on application dates, child’s age and developmental needs, and parental support/interest in the Waldorf educational philosophy. Acceptance priority is given to current students and their siblings, children of Waldorf teachers, and students transferring from other Waldorf schools.

Step 3. Submit Financial Assistance by Feb 1

If interested, submit the Tuition Assistance and/or Diversity Grant application(s). Financial Assistance applications are accepted after February 1 for rolling admissions.

Step 4. Attend the Admissions Play Group with Parent Orientation

This required 30 minute event is scheduled after your application is received and processed. We will contact you with the scheduled date.

Admission decisions are sent out early March.
